Florida has very hot temperatures and high UV ratings, almost year round. That’s bad news for chlorine contact chambers, as chlorine costs are getting more expensive and the heat and UV is burning it up.

Keeping chlorine contact chambers shaded is a great benefit to keeping the UV rays out and keep the hot temperature down, not just for saving on chlorine costs, but cooling it down, helps keep the Trihalomethane (TTHM) count lower and it also helps with Algae control.

The screen is USA made, very strong, light weight, 90% UV protection and chlorine resistant sunscreen fabric made from a non coated, Polyolefin type, polypropylene material. 

Because it is “knit”, it will not fray or unravel if damaged, unlike cheaper “woven” type materials and it has a 132 PSI bursting strength, so it is very strong for being light weight. All the cables, rigging and hardware are marine grade, 316 stainless steel, so nothing will rust, corrode or have severe reaction to chlorine.

The aluminum mounting parts are the same type anodized aluminum industrial hand railing systems that are used on all facilities.

Since the 316 grade Stainless steel hardware is just about indestructible and will last almost forever, it can be reused, so when the screens become old or severely damaged, replacing only the screens is necessary and that will be a fraction of the original installation cost.
